This Norwalk basement was musty and under insulated, making the entire home drafty and uncomfortable. The homeowner was tired of this and wanted to find a solution, so she decided to call the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT for a free home evaluation.
Keith Saunders arrived on the day of the appointment and concluded that the home needed to be properly insulated and have a moisture barrier installed to eliminate the drafts, odor and moisture. The homeowner agreed and wanted to move forward with the insulation process.
On the day of installation, Johnny Lopez and his production team were more than prepared to install these products. SilverGlo panels were placed on the wall and TerraBlock was installed on the floors to prevent any air leakage. Then, our patented CleanSpace liner was placed on top of the floor insulation to prevent any water vapor entry. Without moisture entering the basement, the musty odors were eliminated and the space became much more comfortable.
Once the project was finished, the basement was completely transformed. It became much more attractive and efficient for the entire household. The homeowner was no longer plagued by drafts or musty odors in her basement, and she was very glad that she called the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT!

This Fairfield homeowner was experiencing uneven temperatures throughout their home. This was a nuisance for him because he was paying a high electric bill every month and was still uncomfortable in his own home. Wanting a solution, he decided to call the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT for a solution.
The solution for this home was to install spray foam insulation to the walls of the attic. Before, this Fairfield attic had no insulation, but just look at the transformation! Spray foam insulation offers many benefits such as: having superior R-value (6.2), complete coverage for all the little voids and odd-shaped spaces, is an effective air barrier and is waterproof! Now, the heated air that this homeowner pays for stays in the home and is evenly distributed to all the rooms of the house!

This Bridgeport, CT resident had an old basement with faulty insulation that was in desperate need of replacing. They gave us a call at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut, and we were happy to come out, and give their attic the insulation upgrade it needed.
Our Home Comfort Specialist, Keith Saunders, came out to the home, and quickly diagnosed the problem at hand, and what was needed to get their home feeling comfortable again! Dan Kiley and his team came out, and quickly got to work. The first thing they did was spray foam the entire attic area using our Spray Polyurethane Foam. SPF expands after application, effectively filling voids and uniquely shaped spaces, allowing for full coverage. It stops air leakage, it's waterproof and stable! Compared to their old fiberglass insulation, this was a definite improvement. Dan and his team also installed a Sanidry dehumidifier, to clear out any humid air from the space.
This family can now rest easy in having a much more comfortable space, and much lower energy bills! Give us a call TODAY for your free energy evaluation!
This home used to have massive ice dams. To prevent them from forming in the future, we replaced the old fiberglass insulation with a nice thick layer of our TruSoft cellulose. We also air sealed the attic floor, then covered the skylight assemblies with an airtight wrapping of our SilverGlo foam boards. Now the home doesn't have air leaks that cause ice damming!
When we arrived in this attic, leaking air and heat moved easily between the living space and the attic at every recessed light location. Without a cover, air flowed freely around holes in the can and around the edges of the drywall opening. Our solution was to install a special noncombustible cover around the “can” and then add extra insulation. Because of this insulation and air sealing, the house will stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
The owners of this home used to waste hundreds of dollars on heating and cooling every year because their home has too little attic insulation and thus too much air leakage into the attic space. The owners soon realized that they had a problem and contacted Dr. Energy Saver Of Connecticut.
We quickly diagnosed the problem and realized the insulation needed to be replaced. We installed the SuperAttic system, which utilizes SilverGlo rigid foam insulation. These panels create a continuous air and insulation barrier directly beneath the attic roof, with no thermal bridging to compromise energy performance. With the SuperAttic system, roof ventilation is maintained without allowing exterior air to enter the attic space. As an added benefit, SilverGlo insulation panels include an integral radiant barrier that further reduces heating and cooling costs. With the SuperAttic insulation installed, these homeowners were pleased to find they saved on energy costs and had a home that now stayed warm during the winter!
Before, this Bloomfield homeowner had little insulation in his attic, which caused major discomfort. The rooms in his home had uneven temperatures and his electric bill was consistently high every month. He wanted to make his home energy efficient, so he contacted the professionals at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help make that possible.
The solution for this home was to air seal the entire attic and install blown in cellulose. By air sealing the attic, you are preventing any unwanted air from flowing freely through the attic that would otherwise waste the heated/cooled air you pay for. Once air sealed, blown cellulose insulation was installed along with wood dams to create a walkway for service and storage convenience. This type of insulation is superior because it provides superior R-value while also being safe and environmentally friendly. After installation, the homeowner noticed a difference with a more reasonable electric bill and that the rooms had even temperatures throughout the home. This is exactly what he wanted and he was happy that he trusted the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT.
Before we came to this Glastonbury attic, there were cracks and air leaks under all of the fiberglass insulation. This was allowing unwanted air flow through the attic and home, causing uneven temperatures which resulted in high electric bills. Wanting a solution, these Glastonbury homeowners gave Dr. Energy of Connecticut a call. Our Design Specialist, Keith Saunders, came to the house for a Full Home Energy Evaluation. He concluded that the home would need to be completely air sealed to solve the air leakage problem. Then, blown-in cellulose would be implemented to ensure home efficiency and comfort, where it offers a superior R-value compared to traditional fiberglass batts. With a plan set, David Hicks and his team came to air seal the attic and install the blown-in cellulose. With an upgraded attic, the homeowners could not be happier with a home that now has even temperatures and a lower energy bill!
This customer was burning huge amounts of oil every winter, and they were still uncomfortable. In the summer with the air conditioner running, the bedrooms were hot and the electric bills were high. Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut offered several solutions for this homeowner. We wrapped the masonry chimney with Rockwool insulation and covered and sealed the can light fixtures with our fire-retardant TiteShell light can covers to stop air leakage. For this customer, attic storage access was important, so we installed our insulated SuperDeck to ensure that every portion of their attic would be energy efficient. Finally, we built cellulose dams and filled them with the spray foam cellulose insulation to complete this attic upgrade.
The owners of this Windsor, CT home were looking to make their house more energy efficient. By installing our ENERGY STAR® qualified replacement windows with low-e glass, it's possible to save around $500 per year on heating and cooling costs! Our replacement windows improve energy savings, comfort, curb appeal, security, and require low maintenance! This homeowner was delighted with their new energy efficient window replacement.
This Brooklyn, CT home has old insulation that was in desperate need of replacing. The yellow fiberglass batts were starting to fall apart, and their home was beginning to lose energy. They gave us a call at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut, and we were happy to help!
Our Home Energy Expert, Keith Saunders, came in, and quickly diagnosed the problem. This basement needed new insulation immediately, so he called on Dan Kiley and his team to come on out, and get this attic ready for winter! They first removed all of the old insulation before installing Trusoft Cellulose insulation on the attic gables. Compared to fiberglass insulation, TruSoft™ cellulous will not burn, become moldy or attract pests. Thanks to treatment with natural borate compounds, cellulose insulation will never catch fire. The same treatment discourages the presence of insects, rodents and mold.
