Home Insulation Case Studies: Attic Insulation in Stratford, CT

This Stratford, CT home's attic was improperly insulated, causing unbearable temperatures during the summer. During those hot months, a non-insulated attic's temperate can rise to a staggering 120 degrees. Our team turned this dusty attic into a clean, spacious, energy efficient room! Our foreman Rudy Abel installed blown attic insulation all over the floor to cover most of the room, leaving some area for storage near the hatchway. Blown attic insulation is very popular for upgrading attic insulation levels because it is much faster then rolling out fiberglass batts. It also provides more uniform and thorough coverage. This particular attic now has an R-Value of 60 ,and before it did not even have an R-value.  We also installed our David Lewis Hatch Cover;  an exclusive product to Dr. Energy Saver dealers! It stops air leakage, and insulates over the stairs. It is made of SilverGlo foam, and all you have to do is lift it aside when you go up into your attic, and then set it back into place. After you close the pull down stairs, you don't see anything from the finished areas of your home. As an added bonus, we left a space around the hatchway for storage space! This attic now is fully upgraded, and this family should start to notice less drafts in their home, and lower utility bills!
