Professional, proficient, efficient, courteous. We had to get into the insulation the day after the work was completed to work on our ductless AC unit. The AC repairman couldn't get into where he thought the pump was because they had done such a tight job of the insulation (that's a good thing). Your foreman, Rudy Abel, came back the next day and he knew exactly where the AC pump (or whatever it was?) was and got it accessible for repair. To his credit, Mr. Abel knew exactly where to open things up, because the AC repair guy would have opened up the insulation in the wrong spot.

This New Canaan attic was filled with traditional fiberglass insulation. Even though the attic was “insulated,” it still caused discomfort for the homeowner. As seen in the before photo, the fiberglass insulation was poorly installed and air was still able to leak through. The homeowner wanted a solution to make her home more comfortable and have a lower energy bill, so she decided to call the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help!
The solution for this attic was to install blown-in cellulose. Blown cellulose is superior to traditional fiberglass insulation because it is effective, safe and environmentally friendly. It has a superior R-value compared to fiberglass and is also known as a “green” product. It is primarily made from recycled newspaper that have been treated with boric compounds to become resistant to water, rodents, insects and fire. This product also acts as a thermal barrier that will keep the temperatures in the home more stable and comfortable.
Once installation was complete, the homeowner noticed a difference in her electric bill and was extremely happy with the results!

Despite a layer of fiberglass insulation, this attic was still letting cold, drafty air into this Bridgeport house. While the existing fiberglass insulation added some insulation value, it didn't stop the problematic air leaks. To fix this issue, we first had to remove the ineffective fiberglass insulation. Next, we air-sealed the attic with expanding foam, sealing all cracks that air seeps into the house from. Additionally, we upgraded the insulation to our TruSoft blown cellulose insulation. Air-sealing the attic, combined with an attic insulation upgrade, cut this home's heating and cooling costs by around 40%!
The owners of this home wanted storage space in their attic without compromising the energy efficiency of the room. To meet their needs, we constructed an insulated storage deck across a portion of their attic. To install this decking, we first laid down our excluive SilverGlo foam board across the ceiling joists. SilverGlo is a rigid foam board infused with graphite, which boosts its insulatin value by 24% over standard EPS foam. We then covered the SilverGlo with Oriented Strand Board (OSB). To keep the blown insulation off the storage area, we installed dams around the perimeter of the insulated decking. Not only did this job add valuable attic storage space, it made the whole home more comfortable and less drafty!
Before we came out to this Newtown crawl space, it was dirty, cold and damp. The cold air that was seeping into the crawl space made the home above uncomfortable and made monthly energy bills higher for the homeowners. Wanting a solution, they called Dr. Energy Saver of CT!
On the day of the scheduled appointment, our Home Comfort Advisor, Chris Grosso, arrived to give a free home evaluation. He stressed the benefits of proper insulation, including: an increase in overall home comfort, a decrease in energy bills, and a deterrent against water entry, mold and pests. He suggested that TerraBlock and CleanSpace would be the perfect solutions for this Newtown home’s crawl space. The homeowner agreed, and the installation process was scheduled.
Rudy Abel and his production team installed the products efficiently and professionally. They cleared out the crawl space and began to install the TerraBlock to the walls. TerraBlock is designed to handle tough crawl spaces and acts as a durable thermal and moisture barrier. Our patented CleanSpace liner was then installed on the floors. CleanSpace helps seal out cold drafts in the winter and reduces moisture and humidity in the area, making the home more energy efficient and more comfortable.
These solutions satisfied the homeowner’s concerns! He is now happily enjoying a more comfortable home thanks to Dr. Energy Saver of CT!

This Newtown attic was under insulated and caused fluctuating temperatures and discomfort throughout the home. When an attic lacks the proper insulation, it can cause high heating and cooling costs, uncomfortable rooms, and uneven temperatures throughout the entire home. This Newtown homeowner wanted a solution, so he called the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT and scheduled an appointment for a free home evaluation.
On the day of the appointment, our home comfort advisor, Chris Grosso, concluded that the attic would need to be insulated and air sealed using spray foam and SilverGlo rigid foam board insulation. Does your attic have inefficient insulation? Call us at 1-866-855-6204 to schedule your free, no obligation home evaluation!
This attic in Stratford, CT wasn't properly insulated. It had little to no R-Value, the insulation was scattered and was not doing any good for the homes energy efficiency. Having a home that has an attic that doesn't have well preforming insulation can run your monthly utility bills up a pretty penny. This homeowner wanted a space that could be used for storage but also efficient and doing its job. We installed blown-in insulation over most of the attic, raising the R Value up to 60 from the previous next to nothing value it had before. Blown in insulation offers more uniform and thorough coverage than typical fiberglass batts. We left some space non-insulated for storage purposes. This room is much more attractive looking and doubles as a storage haven and will now be one of the most energy efficient rooms in the house! This homeowner couldn't be happier with their new space!
This Monroe crawl space was covered in cob webs and dirty debris. There was fiberglass insulation exposed from the ceiling and the walls. This limited the homeowner from being able to use this space to their advantage. We installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. It offers a 25-year warranty that keeps moisture and humidity out of your crawl space. Under that is our drainage matting, this gives water a place to go if any were to leak into the crawl space. This space is healthy, attractive looking and able to be used as a functional space by the homeowner.
These Shelton homeowners were interested in replacing two picture windows with energy efficient alternatives. Our team was happy to oblige. We installed a set of beautiful replacement windows from Sunrise. These two windows are not just incredibly energy efficient, they also make a dramatic improvement to the exterior without all the costly hassle that normally comes with exterior alterations.
Before, this Derby basement had an inefficient door and uninsulated rim joists that were causing an uncomfortable and drafty area. This not only affected the basement area, but also caused cold floors in the main rooms above! Wanting a solution, the homeowner decided to contact the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help come up with the perfect solution for her home.
The solution for this home was to apply spray foam insulation around the rim joists of the basement. (the yellow foam above the walls as you can see in the after photo) This insulation will prevent air and moisture from coming through. This will help warm up the floor in the main rooms of the house while also keeping the basement well insulated. Another problem area was the door, which as you can see in the before photo, had tape around the trim to prevent a draft. The solution was to replace it with a door that correctly fit, leaving little space for any unwanted air to flow through. This is exactly what the homeowner wanted and they were thrilled with the results!
