A homeowner in Beacon Falls had existing insulation in their attic that was causing their home to be energy inefficient. One of our Sales Consultants, Rick Searles, went out to the home to assess the issues going on and propose an estimate for new insulation. 

One of our Foremen, Rudy Abel, and his crew blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation throughout the attic. They installed an insulated storage deck with retention dams to keep the insulation in place and make the attic easily accessible to the homeowner. Now our insulation will act as a thermal barrier to the home, making the home energy efficient. 

This home was an unfortunate example of the effects of poor insulation. Heat passes all too easily through a poorly insulated attic. In the winter, heated interior air rises naturally by convection and escapes into the attic through numerous air leaks. Conductive heat loss through the cold ceiling makes rooms directly beneath the attic even colder. The problem reverses on a hot summer day, as attic temperatures rise to the 140-degree range and heat moves into your living space. We set to work immediately, sealing air leaks with expanding polyurethane foam. This prepared the attic for blown in cellulose insulation. This insulation process can potentially cut the heating and cooling costs of this home by up to 40%!

This Waterbury, CT homeowner was looking to change the insulation in his garage. There were fiberglass batts insulating it, which are only effective when installed perfectly. We accessed the bays through holes drilled on the external walls of the house, and injected the dense-packing cellulose in the cavities with powerful equipment. This attic had poorly installed fiberglass batts insulation and several concerning areas for air leakage. The area was sealed with a sprayable orange foam and then our Trusoft cellulose insulation was installed. Both of these products combined will stop conditioned or heated air from escaping, eliminating drafts. Another important benefit of our Trusoft insulation is that it's fire retardant due to the treatment of natural borate compounds.
