A homeowner in Oakville, CT had existing insulation in their attic that was causing their home to be energy inefficient. They called us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to solve their problems. One of our Sales Consultants, Keith Saunders, went out to the home to estimate the issues. He informed them that they needed new insulation. One of our Foremen, Rudy Abel, and his team worked on this project. They removed the old insulation and blew in our TruSoft Cellulose insulation. This would keep the cool air from seeping in and warm air from going out of the attic. Now this home is energy efficient and the temperature will be properly regulated!
Before, this Derby basement had an inefficient door and uninsulated rim joists that were causing an uncomfortable and drafty area. This not only affected the basement area, but also caused cold floors in the main rooms above! Wanting a solution, the homeowner decided to contact the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help come up with the perfect solution for her home.
The solution for this home was to apply spray foam insulation around the rim joists of the basement. (the yellow foam above the walls as you can see in the after photo) This insulation will prevent air and moisture from coming through. This will help warm up the floor in the main rooms of the house while also keeping the basement well insulated. Another problem area was the door, which as you can see in the before photo, had tape around the trim to prevent a draft. The solution was to replace it with a door that correctly fit, leaving little space for any unwanted air to flow through. This is exactly what the homeowner wanted and they were thrilled with the results!

After that, it would be time for one of our Foremen, Jony Fernandez, and his crew to work on this project. They removed some of the old insulation in the attic and then they blew in our TruSoft Cellulose insulation. This would act as a thermal barrier to keep the warm air in and protect the home from cool air from seeping in as well. They made this attic easily accessible by adding a catwalk. Now this homeowner can watch their energy bill go down and actually feel the results.
This Ansonia attic was poorly insulated, causing uneven temperatures and an uncomfortable home. The homeowner was tired of high electric bills due to the inefficiency of his insulation, so he decided to give the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut a call to see what solutions they could provide for him.
