Insulation Transformation in Fairfield, CT

This beautiful gable roof home in Fairfield, CT is a wonderful place to live, but the family living inside were beginning to feel the effects of the old insulation in their attic. They wanted a solution for their high energy bills and low temperatures, so they gave Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut a call!

Our home energy specialist, Keith Saunders, came out and quickly figured out that this home's attic needed an insulation upgrade! Dan Kiley and his team quickly came out, and got right to work with removing the old insulation. They then went ahead and installed Open Cell Spray Foam insulation all along the gable roof. Open-cell foam is a very light material, designed to break or pop as the foam expands but before it sets, allowing pieces to be removed. It has a high coverage rate, forms an air barrier, and blocks and absorbs sound.

This home is now much more comfortable, and we were happy to help them! Call us today for our FREE energy evaluation!

Professional Crawl Space Insulation in Fairfield, CT

This Fairfield, CT crawl space had several air leaks and its lack of insulation was causing uncomfortable temperatures and severe drafts in the rest of the home. The space had two poorly insulated windows allowing moist, unfiltered, unconditioned air to leak into the house proving to be a big issue. Wanting to make the space cleaner and improve the comfort of his home, the homeowner did some online research and decided to schedule an appointment with the experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT.

Home energy specialist Keith Saunders arrived to inspect the home. Keith quickly identified the problems in the crawl space, including uninsulated floor joists, under-performing windows, little protection from moisture, and general lack of insulation. He shared his findings with the homeowner, and together, they discussed some possible solutions and found the best fit for the homeowner.

On the first day of production, foreman Rudy Abel arrived with his crew to begin the project. First, they insulated the home's rim joist, which would prevent crawl space air from leaking into the rest of the home. Next, the team installed CleanSpace liner, which acts as a moisture barrier and covers up the dirty crawl space walls. Finally, they lined the walls with SilverGlo insulation, which includes a built-in reflective barrier that provides added protection from harsh exterior temperatures. When the team was done, the crawl space had been transformed from an uncomfortable crawl space into a neatly lined and well insulated area. The homeowner was more than satisfied with the results, excited that this project had provided him with a more energy efficient home, as well as some valuable storage space, all in one.

Dense Packed Cellulose in Fairfield, CT Roof

These Fairfield, CT homeowners called Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut when they began to realize the home they moved into in the spring, could not handle the summer heat! They were beginning to feel increasingly uncomfortable in the hot and humid second floor and felt like they were already spending way too much on air conditioning. One of our trusted Home Energy Experts visited the home in order to check out what might be causing their discomfort. Upon arrival and closer examination, he realized the home’s attic was incredibly under insulated and the soffit was insulated improperly with fiberglass batts insulation.

The homeowners agreed to have their soffit insulated with densely packed TruSoft Cellulose insulation. We sent out our crew of workers lead by foreman Rudy Abel to complete the project. They first removed the shingles and ridge vent at the top of the roofline in order to access the cavity. As you can see in the before photo, there were significant gaps in the insulation and there is no doubt this was a massive culprit of their discomfort. The works installed the TruSoft Cellulose through a pressurized hose in order to pump as much insulation into the roof cavity as possible. Afterwards, they reinstalled the ridge vent and shingles and now the roof looks good as new!

Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut left this family feeling much more comfortable in their home after this visit and we are proud to have done more work for these homeowners in the years since!

Attic Insulation and Air Sealing in Sandy Hook, CT

Donald S. of Newtown, CT called Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut about a discomfort in his home during these hot summer months. We sent out one of our best Home Energy Specialists, Steve Machnicz, who studied every inch of the attic and located problematic areas throughout the home that could be the culprits of their home losing conditioned air. He communicated with the homeowner about their attic being improperly insulated with fiberglass batts and the air ducts leaking their conditioned air into the attic and being warmed by the hot air in the space. He also noted that the garage had an uninsulated ceiling that was making the room above incredibly hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The homeowner and Steve worked out a few fool-proof solutions that will make his home much more comfortable and energy efficient!

We sent out the trusted crew lead by Clive Burrell who quickly got to work. They began by removing the existing insulation in the attic and using an expanding sprayable foam to air seal the entirety of the attic. . The ducts originally were incredibly leaky, which meant the homeowners were spending money conditioning air and losing it in the hot attic! Their next step was to install blown-in TruSoft Cellulose insulation into the attic. They then densely packed the garage cielings with TruSoft Cellulose as well.

The homeowner couldn’t be happier with his home’s transformation and is looking forward to increased comfort and future savings!

Crawl Space Repair in Monroe

This Monroe crawl space was covered in cob webs and dirty debris. There was existing fiberglass insulation trying its best to insulate the rim joist, yet failing to do so when exposed to the moist crawl space atmosphere. The uncomfortable conditions limited the homeowner from being able to use this space to their advantage for storage. We installed our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. It offers a 25-year warranty that keeps moisture and humidity out of your crawl space. Under that is our drainage matting, this gives water a place to go if any were to leak into the crawl space. This space is healthy, more attractive looking and able to be used as a functional space by the homeowner.
