A homeowner in Greenwich, CT had existing insulation in their attic that was causing their home to be energy inefficient. They decided it was time to call us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to help solve their problems. After scheduling an appointment, one of our Sales Consultants, Keith Saunders, went out to the home to assess the issues.
Then it would be time for one of our Foremen, Rudy Abel, and his team to work on this project. They installed an insulated catwalk so that this attic can be used for storage and be easily accessible. Then the crew blew in TruSoft Cellulose insulation. This would act as a thermal barrier to the home, regulating the temperature properly. Now this home will be energy efficient and the customer can watch their energy bill decrease!
This Brewster basement had traditional fiberglass insulation that was poorly installed and causing temperature fluctuations within the home as well as higher energy bills! The homeowner wanted a solution to control the drafts and unwanted airflow in their basement, so they decided to call Dr. Energy Saver of CT!
The experts at Dr. Energy Saver of CT determined that the most effective solution for this basement was to install spray foam insulation on the ceiling. Spray foam was the best option for this home because it effectively fills voids and odd-shaped spaces and will not absorb moisture or lose R-value over time, unlike traditional fiberglass insulation. This product will stop air leakage and heat loss, effectively saving the homeowners money on their fuel and energy bills!
Now that their basement ceiling is completely insulated with spray foam, these happy homeowners enjoy consistent temperatures throughout the home and a lower electric bill!

These Riverside, CT homeowners reported incredibly cold floors in the second floor of their home where the second level cantilevers slightly over the first. We sent one of our most knowledgeable home comfort experts Keith Saunders to the home in order to see what to do with the issue. The reason why this cantilever was allowing to much heat out of the home was because it had a layer of rigid foam insulation that was not air sealed, so it was allowing heated air to escape.
Keith recommended we install sprayable foam insulation between the floor joists that are cantilevering outward. This was done by our crew lead by Rudy Abel. They removed the siding underneath to expose the cavities then installed three inches of the foam to reach an R-value of about R-12. The closed cell foam expanded to fill all the gaps in the floor joists which will prevent heated air from escaping through this access point again.
The homeowners noticed right away the floors on the second floor were not nearly as cold as they had been in past winters! They continued to have additional insulation installed in their attic by Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut.
These Stamford, CT homeowners called Dr Energy Saver of Connecticut with concerns for their high heating and cooling bills. They were looking to invest in their attic by consulting with one of our Home Energy Specialists. Keith Saunders, an expert in anything home energy, visited their home to check out any shortcomings in their attic. He noticed there were a lot of gaps in their fiberglass bats insulation that was allowing their heated and conditioned air from the living spaces leak into the attic. Also, their air ducts were not completely air sealed which also was robbing the homeowners from their conditioned air.
Keith suggested they air seal, ugrade their insulation, and build an area they could use for storage in their attic. We sent out Rudy Abel, a foreman with ample knowledge and experience in installing home energy products. He first removed all the fiberglass bats installed that had become compressed and were barely providing any insulation. He then used an expanding spray-able foam into any gaps and joints throughout the attic, including installing foam caps for all the can lights and air sealing them too. He used our Spray Foam insulation to completely seal and insulate all the air ducts. Him and his crew installed our Blown in Cellulose insulation so the attic can have an r-value of R60 to provide an ample blanket of insulation.
The homeowners now have an incredibly energy efficient attic that helps contain any conditioned air in the living spaces. The homeowners are already pleased with the work!
A homeowner in Stamford, CT had old fiberglass insulation in their attic that they wanted replaced to ensure their home is energy efficient. We sent out one of our Salesmen, Steve Machnicz, to the home to assess the attic and propose our blown-in cellulose as the new, permanent solution.
Soon after it would be time for one of our Foremen, Rudy, and his crew to install this job. They removed the old insulation and then they installed an insulated storage deck to allow easy access in the attic. Then they did some air sealing in necessary areas, and finally blew in our TruSoft cellulose insulation. It is superior to fiberglass and instantly will make the home more energy efficient.
Now the homeowner is happy knowing they are not losing any air through the attic and the temperatures in their home are regulated!
