This Farmington, Connecticut home had an attic that wasn't properly insulated. The ducts weren't insulated either and this allowed unconditioned, moist, and dusty air to be distributed throughout the home. We installed our blown insulation throughout the floor and left some space open for storage, as per the homeowners request. This home used to have massive ice dams. To prevent them from forming in the future, we replaced the old fiberglass insulation with a nice thick layer of our TruSoft cellulose. We also air sealed the attic floor, then covered the skylight assemblies with an airtight wrapping of our SilverGlo foam boards. Now the home doesn't have air leaks that cause ice damming!

We took out their fiberglass insulation and put in our Spray foam. Spray foam is an open-cell foam made up of tiny bubbles that are interconnected. The bubbles hold air, which provides insulation value — typically between R-3.5 and R-4 per inch. The homeowners now have a better insulated and seal attic that holds in their heated or conditioned air, saving them big money on their heating and cooling costs.
