Attic Insulation - Chimney Insulation
For safety, it is important that a masonry chimney not be touching combustible materials such as wood, fiberglass insulation, or foam. The answer is to wrap the chimney with Rockwool, a non-combustible fireproof mineral fiber. Then, for added R-value, SilverGlo foam insulation can be installed and sealed against the Rockwool.
