Crawlspace Insulation in Oxford, CT

Crawlspace Insulation in Oxford, CT Crawlspace Insulation in Oxford, CT

The old-fashioned way to insulate a crawl space was to install fiberglass batt insulation between joists in the crawl space, and to vent the crawl space so that outside air could circulate beneath the house. Unfortunately, this combination usually leads to the problems listed above. Fiberglass insulation doesn’t respond well to the moist conditions that can be found in a crawl space. The cotton-like material absorbs moisture, gets soggy, compresses and loses R-value. Weighted down by moisture, fiberglass batts often end up on the crawl space floor in a soggy mess, like it did in this home. By spray foaming the crawlspace walls and installing insulation and CleanSpace on the floor, we were able to solve the insulation problems and save the owners of this home money on energy costs!

The owners of this home wanted better attic insulation, but having room for storage was a must. To accomodate their needs, we installed an insulated deck. Beneath the wood is our SilverGlo rigid insulation. Unlike fiberglass batts, which can compress, lose R-value and even fall out of place, rigid foam stays put once it's installed. It creates a flat, smooth thermal barrier that retains its original R-value forever! And when the joints between foam panels are sealed correctly, rigid foam acts as an air barrier as well as a thermal barrier. With our innovative insulation products, we were able to save the owners of this home money on heating bills!
