Proper Insulation Will Help Decrease Your Energy Bills All Year

As a Connecticut homeowner, you know full well how harsh the winters and summers can be here. One of the best ways to save on your energy bills for years to come is to update your home's insulation. Dr. Energy Saver Of Connecticut is a professional blown insulation contractor, catering to residential homes in Branford and nearby. Hop on the path to savings by contacting us today!

Dr. Energy Saver Of Connecticut likes using blown-in cellulose insulation for many homes due to the fact that it is one of the best types of insulation that can match or exceed the insulation value of fiberglass, with R-values as high as R-4 per inch. That is because, unlike fiberglass which doesn't stop air movement, cellulose does a good job of slowing or stopping air leaks that can waste energy and cause cold drafts. It is also eco-friendly, as it takes much less energy to manufacture than other types of insulation, and is even made from recycled newspaper. Plus, blown-in cellulose is resistant to fires, mice, and mold, so you can count on the insulation value lasting.

Ice Dam Repair & Prevention Solutions

Homes in this area of the country are exposed to frigid temperatures and snow every winter.  Because of this, ice dams are common issues that homeowners deal with.  Ice dams are caused when the heat inside your attic warms the underside of the roof and causes ice and snow to melt. Ice dams can cause serious damage to your roof and can leak into your attic. When we talk about ice dams, one of the most frequent questions we get asked is "how do I prevent or repair ice dams?"  Preventing ice dams is fairly simple with the use of proper insulation and air sealing. If your home is facing ice dam issues, contact the experts at Dr. Energy Saver Of Connecticut for a FREE quote today!

This customer in Branford, CT had old insulation in their attic and called us at Dr. Energy Saver of CT to make a change. One of our Sales Representatives, Mike Bourdeau, drove out to the home to understand the issues. He informed the homeowner that they would need to reinsulate the attic. Then, one of our foremen, Rudy Abel, and his crew went out to work on the job. They removed the old insulation and then blew in our TruSoft Cellulose insulation. This would act as a thermal barrier to the home. Now this homeowner has an energy-efficient home and will see their energy bill decrease!

Blown Cellulose Installation in Branford, CT

This Branford homeowner was concerned with uneven temperatures throughout her home and assumed her attic was poorly insulated. She called Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut, who had home energy specialist Keith Saunders figure out the issue. He confirmed that not only was her attic poorly insulated, but her air ducts were leaky, there were several areas around the ducts that were completely uninsulated, and the cantilevered area over the kitchen was not insulated.

The Dr. Energy Saver of Connecticut team, lead by foreman Rudy Abel, removed all the poorly performing fiberglass batts insulation and installed one metal chimney wrap with rockwool as well as installing TruSoft blown in cellulose. They put a cap over the open kitchen soffit and installed additional insulation to the attic adjacent wall and sealed, then encapsulated the air ducts located in the attic.

The homeowner was immediately more comfortable in her better insulated home and will soon start saving big on her fuel and electricity bills!
